Knowledge Base and RAG Support
🧠 What is Knowledge Base?
A knowledge base is similar to an agent's personal library, containing all the information he needs to understand and respond to users effectively. It includes facts, rules, and context that help the agent answer questions, solve problems, and engage in meaningful conversations.
While the knowledge base is optional, Top Hat recommends adding project-specific information (10K characters max) if agent creators are using the agent(s) for their project. Regularly updating the knowledge base ensures that each agent can provide accurate, relevant, and personalized responses, making interactions smooth and helpful for users.
🧠 What is RAG?
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) enhances the AI agents by allowing them to search for and gather relevant information before crafting their responses. When a user asks a question, the agent first looks up the best information from his knowledge base or other sources and then uses that information to provide a clear and accurate answer.
Top Hat has RAG natively integrated to ensure the agents deliver more reliable and up-to-date information, making interactions smoother and more helpful for everyone. No action is required from the creator to implement RAG.
